At Yoder Airways, we believe in honest billing and clear communication. Students are charged only for the time they fly and the instruction they receive — nothing more.
There are no surprise fuel surcharges, no administrative add-ons, and no inflated lesson times.

Students are encouraged to maintain open communication regarding billing and lesson planning to ensure efficient, goal-oriented training.
We emphasize preparation before flight. Students are expected to complete assigned ground study and be ready for each lesson. Efficient preparation reduces unnecessary flight time and ensures steady progress toward certification.
Our focus is not volume — it is performance and readiness.
Yoder Airways operates with professionalism and respect for instructor time, aircraft availability, and student scheduling commitments.
All lesson cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Same-day cancellations are not permitted.
This policy ensures:
• Instructor time is respected
• Aircraft scheduling remains fair and efficient
• Other students are not prevented from training
If a cancellation occurs within the 24-hour window, one emergency cancellation will be extended as a courtesy.
After the emergency cancellation has been used, cancellations made within 24 hours will result in a charge equal to:
One hour of aircraft rental + one hour of instructor time
This policy maintains accountability and supports a disciplined training environment for all students.
Safety is always our priority.
If a lesson must be cancelled due to:
• Weather conditions
• Aircraft maintenance
• Operational or safety concerns
Students will not be charged.
We do not penalize students for circumstances beyond their control.
To protect both our students and the aircraft, Yoder Airways requires all student pilots to maintain a non-owned aircraft (renter’s) insurance policy prior to solo flight or independent aircraft rental.
While Yoder Airways maintains primary aircraft insurance, student pilots are responsible for carrying their own coverage to protect against personal liability and potential financial responsibility in the event of an incident.
Students must carry the following minimum limits:
Liability Coverage: $500,000 per occurrence
Property Damage Coverage: $100,000
Aircraft Damage (Hull) Coverage: $50,000
Proof of insurance must be provided prior to solo flight or rental operations.
Renter’s insurance policies are typically affordable and are available through aviation-specific insurance providers, including AOPA and other aviation insurers.
This requirement supports responsible aircraft stewardship and protects both the student pilot and Yoder Airways.
